Associate Video Producer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Aid in the planning, filming, and editing of video content across various formats, including social-first clips, explainers, and longer-form features.

• Work collaboratively with editorial teams to convert written science journalism into engaging visual stories.

• Oversee pre-production logistics, which encompass scheduling, shot lists, and coordination with subjects and experts.

• Edit video footage, motion graphics, and animations utilizing industry-standard editing tools.

• Acquire and organize b-roll, archival footage, and licensed media for projects.

• Assist with live shoots, interviews, and remote productions as required.

• Keep abreast of video trends across platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) and contribute to the adaptation of content strategies accordingly.

• Ensure organized project files, footage archives, and production documentation are maintained.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in video production, editing, or a related field (including internships).

• Proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro; familiarity with After Effects is an advantage.

• A keen eye for visual storytelling and pacing.

• Basic skills in camera and lighting operation.

• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

• A genuine interest in science, technology, and making complex ideas easily understandable.

• A bachelor's degree in film, journalism, communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
