• Oversee the creation, execution, and upkeep of compliance programs that adhere to NERC O&P and CIP standards.
• Perform in-depth evaluations of utility operations to pinpoint compliance deficiencies and formulate corrective action strategies.
• Generate thorough documentation, reports, and audit replies that illustrate conformity with NERC standards.
• Offer expert advice for internal audits and external assessments, ensuring clarity and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops for client personnel on NERC mandates, highlighting best practices in operational planning and reliability standards.
• Remain updated on changing industry regulations, technological progress, and emerging challenges impacting electric grid reliability.
• Safeguard data integrity, availability, and confidentiality through established metadata standards, classification, retention, and purging policies.
• Work collaboratively with compliance, operations, IT, and engineering teams to ensure technical architecture meets regulatory and business requirements.
• Due to the nature of client engagements, candidates must be a US Permanent Resident or US Citizen.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, business, cybersecurity, security management, homeland security, information security, or a related field AND at least seven (7+) years of post-graduation experience in the electric utility sector or a NERC-related regulator;
• Alternatively, a Master’s degree in electrical engineering, business, cybersecurity, security management, homeland security, information security, or a related discipline AND a minimum of five (5+) years of post-graduation experience in the electric utility sector or a NERC-related regulator.
• Work experience must focus on North American NERC Reliability Standards (USA and/or Canada) supporting the regulatory framework and processes associated with NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) or NERC Operations & Planning and Regional Entities (US and/or Canada).
• Demonstrated experience in NERC 693 compliance management in the electric utility or related energy sectors.
• Strong comprehension of operations & planning functions within power systems, including system modeling and analysis.
• Outstanding communication skills necessary for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Capability to work efficiently with compliance, operations, IT, and engineering teams to align technical architecture with both regulatory and business requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining attention to detail under strict deadlines.
• Willingness to travel, including potential international trips as needed.
• Must be able to work onsite at a Guidehouse Office or Client Office location.
