Assistant Medical Billing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Prepare and organize medical billing documents to ensure claims are submitted accurately and on time.

• Review patient records for thoroughness and precision before billing occurs.

• Accurately input and update billing information within the system and internal tracking tools.

• Assist billers and coders by confirming that all necessary documentation is complete and easily accessible.

• Verify insurance details and pinpoint discrepancies to escalate to the billing team.

• Monitor the status of claims and keep records updated in internal systems.

• Help resolve minor claim issues and escalate more complex matters to billers or coders as needed.

• Produce comprehensive reports on pending, ongoing, and completed tasks.

• Perform additional tasks as directed by the immediate supervisor.

⛳️ Requirements

• Basic understanding of medical billing processes, insurance verification, and the claims lifecycle.

• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and billing software is advantageous.

• Strong attention to detail with the capability to review and validate data for accuracy and completeness.

• Proficient in data entry and comfortable utilizing spreadsheets and internal tracking tools.

• Good grasp of insurance verification processes and common discrepancies.

• Ability to manage sensitive patient information with confidentiality and compliance.

• Strong organizational and time management skills to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaboration with billers, coders, and internal teams.

• Problem-solving abilities to identify minor issues and appropriately escalate complex concerns.
