This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Create and manage conceptual, logical, and physical data models for the Medicaid Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
• Establish architecture standards for Operational Data Store (ODS), integration, dimensional, and reporting layers.
• Oversee the onboarding of source systems into the EDW, including claims, eligibility, provider, encounters, finance, and other Medicaid sectors.
• Evaluate new initiatives for their data implications, scalability, integration patterns, and effects on downstream reporting.
• Suggest enhancements to warehouse performance, data structures, and the overall architecture of the platform.
• Manage and improve the enterprise Dataedo platform.
• Maintain data dictionaries, table/column definitions, business glossaries, lineage, and stewardship assignments.
• Develop and govern source-to-target mapping documentation.
• Ensure compliance with metadata standards across projects and support teams.
• Create user-friendly documentation portals for both business and technical users.
• Implement governance processes for definitions, ownership, approvals, and change management.
• Maintain comprehensive lineage from source systems through ETL pipelines to reporting assets.
• Assist with impact analysis for schema modifications, source alterations, and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with data owners and subject matter experts (SMEs) to standardize definitions for KPIs and metrics.
• Support reporting and traceability needs for Medicaid operations and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure that data assets adhere to privacy, security, and compliance standards, including HIPAA.
• Assist with audit inquiries that involve data lineage, documentation, and control evidence.
• Collaborate with ETL developers, BI teams, analysts, QA teams, DBAs, and business stakeholders.
• Provide mentorship to technical staff regarding modeling standards, documentation expectations, and governance practices.
• Engage in roadmap planning, release planning, and architecture evaluations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Over 7 years of experience in data warehousing and enterprise data management.
• More than 5 years in a Data Architect, Senior Data Modeler, or a comparable leadership position.
• Practical experience with metadata management tools, ideally Dataedo.
• Strong background with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar.
• Proficient SQL skills.
• Experience in designing enterprise data models, dimensional models, and integration layers.
• Familiarity with documenting lineage and source-to-target mappings.
• Experience in regulated environments that necessitate strong controls and documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
