Android Engineer – Rewards UX

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain features for the Midnite Android application, facilitating enhancements and new experiences within our rewards program.

• Work collaboratively with product, design, and engineering teams to outline, create, and launch new features.

• Maintain the application's performance, quality, and responsiveness.

• Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs, bottlenecks, and performance challenges.

• Contribute to a codebase that is scalable, maintainable, and thoroughly tested.

• Produce high-quality, reusable Kotlin code utilizing contemporary Android development methodologies.

• Assist in establishing testing standards to guarantee a dependable experience for our users.

• Engage in architectural discussions and foster ongoing enhancements across the Android platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in professional Android development.

• Proven track record of launching production Android applications on Google Play.

• Highly skilled in Kotlin.

• Extensive knowledge of Jetpack Compose and modern Android development practices.

• Familiarity with asynchronous programming, thread safety, Kotlin Coroutines, and Flows.

• Comfortable working with REST APIs, networking, and data storage solutions.

• Experience with dependency injection frameworks, preferably Koin.

• Capable of writing unit tests and addressing Android-specific edge cases.

• Strong grasp of Android architecture patterns, including MVVM and Clean Architecture.

• Proficient in Android Studio, Gradle, Git, and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Fastlane.

• Familiar with testing frameworks like JUnit, Espresso, or Compose Testing.

• Thrives in dynamic product teams.
