Android Engineer, Accessibility Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation of accessibility (A11y) enhancements for the Android application, prioritizing stability, performance, and alignment with product and business objectives.

• Establish and advocate for exceptional standards in code quality, utilizing modern best practices to ensure the codebase's extensibility and maintainability.

• Collaborate on the comprehensive implementation of accessibility fixes, from initial draft to final deployment, ensuring on-time delivery and alignment with stakeholder expectations.

• Partner closely with cross-functional teams, including product design, iOS and backend development, and quality assurance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in implementing accessibility (A11y) features within mobile applications.

• A history of contributing to applications utilized by a large user base.

• An appreciation for the significance of writing efficient, thorough tests, along with experience in doing so.

• Hands-on experience with Coroutines & Flows in a production environment.

• Familiarity with reactive streams.

• Experience working on multi-module projects.

• A dedication to upholding high code quality, with a strong sense of accountability for the product's success.

• A collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

• Proficient in written and verbal communication in English.

• Preferred: Production experience with Jetpack Compose.

• Basic knowledge of security principles.

• Understanding of Gradle scripting.

• Experience with Agile development methodologies.

• Background in the payments or FinTech sector.
