AI/Machine Learning Engineer – Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design of a cutting-edge LLM enrichment pipeline within an enterprise Knowledge Graph.

• Collaborate with the Data Architect and Director of AI to create a taxonomy for LLM classification.

• Develop and refine prompts for entity classification and metadata generation related to products, recipes, and ingredients.

• Construct an evaluation framework to assess enrichment accuracy, coverage, and drift.

• Deploy the enrichment pipeline in Azure OpenAI, incorporating a human review step prior to writing to the graph.

• Assist in entity resolution by matching recipe ingredients to Salsify products and clarifying variants.

• Establish escalation procedures for dietary and health claim outputs that require regulatory or Director of AI approval.

• Optimize model selection and quality thresholds in alignment with the review policy.

• Maintain documentation of taxonomy choices, prompt versions, and evaluation outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in ML/AI engineering with practical knowledge of LLM classification or enrichment pipelines.

• Proficient in Python programming.

• Expertise in prompt engineering and generating structured outputs, including JSON schemas and function calls.

• Direct experience with Azure OpenAI or a similar LLM API.

• Background in developing evaluation and benchmarking frameworks for model outputs.

• Experience in creating human-in-the-loop review processes.

• Familiarity with taxonomy or ontology-based data models.

• Working knowledge of vector search and embeddings for semantic matching.

• Experience in the CPG, retail, or food sectors is a plus.

• Familiarity with schema.org, JSON-LD, and GEO is advantageous.

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric/Fabric IQ is beneficial.

• Microsoft Azure AI Engineer Associate certification or an equivalent credential is a plus.

• Must reside in Brazil.
