AI Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the platform end to end, encompassing multiple applications and shared SDKs on a unified cloud infrastructure.

• Develop React/TypeScript front ends and FastAPI/Python services, supported by Terraform/IAM/ECS infrastructure and a unified design system.

• Establish infrastructure and environments from the ground up, including new services, cloud accounts, tenants, connectors, data synchronization, and migrations (including cross-region) — all provisioned and validated, never merely established and assumed.

• Manage fleets of coding agents. Break down a cross-repo change into independent tasks, distribute them to parallel agents in isolated workspaces, conduct adversarial multi-reviewer evaluations, and reconcile the outcomes.

• Deeply integrate with enterprise systems. Engage in SAP/ERP integration via RFC/BAPI — reading and authoring ABAP as needed, reverse-engineering business rules, managing sales-order and customer-master flows, currency/unit/sales-area mapping, and idempotent event synchronization.

• Design multi-tenant data architecture. Utilize Postgres row-level security as the core for tenant isolation, create JSONB-backed tenant-extensible capability platforms (custom fields, validation, masking), ensure careful migrations, and implement a graph database where applicable.

• Deliver high volumes without sacrificing coherence. Manage multiple PRs across various repositories in a single working session, maintaining CI green, deployed and verified — all while ensuring a clean design.

• Author comprehensive documentation beyond just the code. Create specifications, design documents, discovery-question sets, and runbooks that allow work to be easily understood and resumed by others.

• Develop tools that enhance AI effectiveness in this context. Create per-codebase navigation maps, documentation indexes, guard hooks, and custom skills — invest in improving agent familiarity with the codebase to benefit every subsequent task.

• Automate repetitive tasks. Treat every recurring task as an issue to resolve. When a workflow repeats, document it as a reusable Claude skill, hook, or slash command, so that the next execution — whether yours or a teammate's — requires only one step instead of ten.

• Review thoroughly and deploy with precision. Identify regressions that the standard path overlooked, distinguish between “it renders” and “the data is correct,” refute unfounded blockers, and interact with shared state only when justified and approved.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in AI orchestration. You already manage agents in parallel, isolate their tasks in worktrees, and verify their outputs adversarially — not just “I’ve used Copilot.”

• Comprehensive full-stack and infrastructure skills. Capable of working from a React component to a Postgres RLS policy to a Terraform module within the same day.

• Strong systems debugging instincts. You pursue root causes across service boundaries — including authentication, pagination, dependency conflicts, and integration mismatches — and do not settle for the first plausible explanation.

• Evidence-driven mindset. You question green badges, require real fixtures, and substantiate claims with working screenshots, read-back records, or live payloads.

• Ability for self-correction. You can recount an instance where you reversed a previously held confident conclusion based on evidence.

• Instinct for automation. You naturally convert recurring tasks into reusable Claude skills, hooks, and commands — elevating your efficiency instead of repeating toil.

• Strong operational discipline. Engage in read-only behavior until authorized, replicate proven patterns, enhance in place, use precise language, and ensure clean handoffs.

• Resilience and clear communication. You accept straightforward, rapid feedback well and articulate your reasoning simply.

• **Nice to have**

• In-depth knowledge of Enterprise ERP/SAP. Familiar with RFC/BAPI, ABAP, customer and order master data — or the courage to reverse-engineer a customer's system to that level.

• Experience in building tooling. You have created frameworks that enhance the effectiveness of other agents and engineers: navigation maps, indexes, skills, guard hooks, templates.

• Architectural sensibility under constraints. You aim for solutions that maintain future cost efficiency and can articulate why a rewrite or fragmentation is inadvisable.

• Experience in multi-tenant/B2B environments. Understanding tenant isolation, per-tenant configuration, and associated failure modes.

• Knowledge of compliance frameworks. Familiarity with GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001 — comfortable with ROPA, control mappings, and runbooks.

• Design-system proficiency. Utilize tokens over hardcoded values and are capable of conducting both UX and UI reviews on your own work.
