Advanced Security Engineer, IAM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and manage internal IAM and cloud security services utilized throughout the organization

• Produce high-quality software following modern engineering best practices

• Streamline security controls to alleviate operational burdens and minimize technical debt

• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate secure-by-default methodologies into workflows

• Engage in on-call support, incident response, root-cause analysis, and enhancements to reliability

• Guide engineers and promote practical security advancements

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a comparable field

• Over 2 years of professional experience in software development

• Expertise in C#, Python, Java, or another contemporary general-purpose programming language

• Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, encompassing algorithms and data structures

• Knowledge of cloud technologies, with a preference for Azure

• Familiarity with DevSecOps methodologies and automation tools such as GitHub Actions

• Preferred experience in securing cloud-native applications, SaaS solutions, and networks

• Awareness of vulnerability scanning and threat protection is preferred

• Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)

• Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300)

• Understanding of Zero Trust security principles and their practical application is preferred

• Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards and frameworks such as GDPR and HIPAA is preferred

• Exposure to AWS or GCP is preferred

• Essential skills encompass endpoint security, network security, penetration testing, security architecture design, security automation, security information, SIEM, security operations, threat modeling, and vulnerability management

• A growth mindset and a desire to learn within engineering and security fields
