Adjuster General

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Investigate claims made against insurance or other companies pertaining to personal, casualty, or property loss or damages.

• Strive to achieve out-of-court settlements with claimants.

• Manage complex losses independently up to a specified authority level.

• Provide assistance on larger claims, including those involving accounting-based losses such as business interruption and stock.

• Review claim forms and other documentation to ascertain insurance coverage.

• Conduct interviews, phone calls, or correspondence with claimants and witnesses regarding their claims.

• Consult police and hospital records; assess property damage to evaluate the extent of the company's liability using various investigative methods.

• Estimate the costs for repairs, replacements, or compensation.

• Compile a report of findings and negotiate settlements with claimants.

• Recommend litigation through the legal department when negotiations fail.

• Attend litigation hearings.

• Adjust case reserves in assigned claims files to accommodate anticipated costs.

• Assist in creating loss experience reports to aid in determining profitability and calculating appropriate future rates.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

• Must have obtained the IIA-AIC designation and be in the process of pursuing another professional insurance designation.

• A valid state adjuster license is mandatory.

• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience or a comparable combination of education and experience is required.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation capabilities.

• Proficient in PC usage, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.

• Proven commitment to timely reporting.

• Effective time management and organizational skills.
