This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create a diverse array of assets, including characters, vehicles, props, and complete environments, in both realistic and stylized artistic styles.

• Transform models from initial concept and blockout stages to final, game-ready assets, ensuring clean topology, optimized UVs, and textures suitable for Roblox.

• Guarantee that all assets are performance-optimized for streaming and gameplay efficiency across various devices.

• Take ownership of your tasks and deliver high-quality assets efficiently with minimal supervision, ensuring projects progress smoothly without extensive guidance.

• Collaborate closely with Art Directors, Technical Artists, and Game Designers to uphold consistency in style, tone, and quality throughout a project.

• Interact with clients and stakeholders to understand briefs and directly integrate feedback into your work.

• Participate in reviews, contribute to brainstorming sessions, and iterate swiftly based on input from the team and clients.

• Stay updated on modeling techniques, tools, and styles within UGC gaming to ensure Sawhorse’s output remains innovative and competitive.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience: A minimum of 3 years in 3D modeling for games, interactive media, or real-time production environments.

• Versatile Portfolio: A robust portfolio showcasing both realistic and stylized works, including at least two of the following categories: characters, vehicles, or environments.

• Roblox Studio Expertise: Proficient in Roblox Studio and building workflows, with knowledge of optimization techniques (StreamingEnabled, low-poly design, etc.).

• 3D Software Proficiency: Experienced in using tools such as Blender, Maya, or similar software, and capable of exporting FBX files compatible with Roblox.

• Technical Understanding: Strong comprehension of topology, UVs, lighting, composition, and layout, with the ability to troubleshoot integration and performance challenges.

• Gameplay Mindset: Understands the impact of visual design on player experience and gameplay flow.

• Self-Direction: Capable of managing your own tasks, prioritizing effectively, and delivering high-quality work promptly with minimal oversight.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable presenting in meetings and collaborating within cross-functional teams.

• Nice To Have's: Experience with Substance Painter or Designer for texture work, familiarity with lighting techniques for cinematic environments, knowledge of avatar rigging or custom character controllers in Roblox, previous experience creating plugins or custom tools for Roblox development, and understanding of additional engines like Unity or Unreal.
