This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Oversee the Company’s tax compliance, reporting, and strategic planning activities.
• Develop and refine scalable tax processes.
• Manage the tax provision effectively.
• Oversee compliance activities related to income, sales and use, property, and R&D tax credits.
• Monitor and track state apportionment data.
• Coordinate and manage tax audits and notices.
• Maintain tax balances on the general ledger.
• Keep abreast of tax and GAAP accounting standards that affect financial reporting.
• Assist external auditors and tax preparers during their engagements.
• Document tax filings, policies, and procedures while helping to maintain financial controls.
• Lead tax planning efforts and identify opportunities for tax savings.
• Stay informed on federal, state, and local tax law changes and evaluate their impact on the business.
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and Legal teams on tax matters relevant to business initiatives.
• Support tax-related facets of acquisitions, restructurings, and special projects.
• Drive automation and promote continuous improvement in tax processes and controls.
• Work with team members and provide support for their roles.
• Undertake additional duties and special projects that benefit the Finance organization.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical services or a related industry.
• Experience in public accounting is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• Strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
• Proficient in prioritizing and executing tasks under pressure.
• Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
• Ability to learn swiftly and adapt to new and evolving environments.
• Skilled in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
• Logical, efficient, and creative thinker with a keen eye for detail.
• Familiarity with accounting principles, practices, and standards.
• Knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
• High level of accountability for performance and its effect on company success.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills.
• Preference for candidates able to type at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy.
• Flexibility to travel as needed is preferred.
• Must successfully complete a background check and, depending on the position, a drug screen in line with company standards.
