This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.
• Design, develop, and sustain high-throughput data pipelines that ingest and convert substantial amounts of unstructured content into structured, enriched datasets.
• Play a role in the design and progression of ingestion systems, enhancing scalability, reliability, and maintainability over time.
• Enhance data quality, accuracy, and enrichment processes to support downstream systems like Search and Data Science.
• Construct and manage distributed, event-driven systems and streaming pipelines with robust observability and fault tolerance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data Science, Search, and Platform teams to provide high-quality data that fuels customer-facing features.
• Assume ownership of projects from start to finish, balancing the speed of delivery with system reliability and long-term maintainability.
• Provide support and mentorship to teammates through code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing.
• Approximately 5-8 years of professional experience as a software engineer.
• Experience in designing, building, and managing distributed systems, data pipelines, or event-driven architectures.
• Strong expertise in Python or a comparable backend programming language.
• Proven experience in building and maintaining reliable, observable, and scalable services or microservices.
• Familiarity with streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or analogous systems.
• Experience with APIs and service communication patterns, including gRPC and Protocol Buffers.
• Background in working with large-scale data systems or high-throughput SaaS platforms.
• Understanding of relational or search databases like MySQL, Postgres, Elasticsearch, or OpenSearch.
• Capability to make informed technical trade-offs regarding performance, reliability, and maintainability.
