Senior Cloud Engineer, Cloud Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Tackle intricate challenges as a reliable technical leader.

• Foster a DevOps mentality and promote collaboration within the Cloud Platform Engineering Team.

• Create and refine cloud reference architectures while guiding teams on their implementation.

• Engage in architectural decision-making, enhance CI/CD pipelines, and construct secure, high-performing, resilient, and efficient cloud infrastructure.

• Work alongside cross-functional teams to optimize delivery processes, improve services, and ensure a seamless experience through self-service and contemporary approaches.

• Mentor and guide team members to excel in industry best practices.

• Oversee code and design reviews to ensure high-quality outputs.

• Assist in planning and coordinating daily team activities using Scrum methodologies, which includes monitoring and managing work, defining and tracking KPIs, facilitating team discussions and demonstrations, and addressing obstacles.

• Remain informed about the latest advancements in cloud technologies and trends.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 5 years of experience in senior cloud engineering positions; experience in a high-tech, global setting is preferred.

• Proficiency with public cloud platforms, including both console and API (GCP preferred).

• Experience in automating cloud solutions (e.g., applications, infrastructure, storage, platforms, and data).

• Proficient in programming with Go, Python, and Shell/Bash.

• Strong understanding of system design to balance operational and reliability trade-offs.

• Practical knowledge of agile methodologies and Scrum.

• Proven technical experience in software development and operations, focusing on developing infrastructure as code.

• Highly adaptable with the ability to adjust based on business priorities; actively seeks and provides feedback to ensure alignment.

• An effective and professional communicator, capable of delivering clear and concise messaging (both verbal and written) to diverse audiences.

• Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with the capability to synthesize input from various sources to create impactful recommendations for business success.

• Agile and adaptable, excelling in managing and prioritizing workloads in an environment characterized by urgency, ambiguity, and change.
