This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and analyze AML alerts generated from various program partners.
• Perform due diligence and continuous monitoring of cannabis clients.
• Create marijuana-specific SAR reports for partners, following FinCEN’s guidelines on distinguishing between limited, priority, and termination filings.
• Assist in the development and fine-tuning of transaction monitoring rules suited to specific typologies.
• Manage the complete CRB onboarding process and ongoing oversight, which includes cannabis-specific assessments, license verifications, and beneficial ownership evaluations.
• Conduct regular reviews of CRB accounts to validate cash deposits, sales activities, and transaction patterns that align with licensed operations.
• Provide support for partner bank regulatory examinations and internal/external audits; prepare necessary materials and respond to inquiries from examiners.
• Monitor and investigate alerts concerning negative news, OFAC and PEP screenings, as well as license violations.
• Over 5 years of experience in BSA/AML compliance, with fintech and cannabis banking experience being advantageous.
• Familiarity with filing marijuana-related SARs under FinCEN’s MRB guidance framework.
• Proven understanding of BSA compliance models, including the flow of AML obligations among partner programs.
• Experience with AML transaction monitoring platforms (e.g., Abrigo BAM+, Actimize, Verafin) and cannabis-specific compliance tools (e.g., METRC, BioTrack, Shield Assure, RiskScout).
• Capability to review state cannabis license data, interpret operational structures of dispensaries, cultivators, and processors, and evaluate alignment with banking activities.
• CAMS certification is a plus.
