Research Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Oversees the management of a research laboratory, which includes database management, scientific writing, sample analysis, student training, and budgeting.

• Manages a long-term database, updates it with new information, and conducts quality control checks on data (30%).

• Aids in the preparation of publications and grant writing (20%).

• Directs the daily operations within the laboratory, ensuring research materials are organized and live cultures are maintained (20%).

• Conducts analysis of samples collected from lake sites (10%).

• Provides training to students (both graduate and undergraduate) in sample collection and analysis techniques (10%).

• Monitors funding from both internal and external sources, and orders supplies and equipment for all laboratory members (10%).

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree in Limnology, Ecology, or Biology.

• 1-3 years of experience in the field of limnology.

• Candidates with extensive technical knowledge in the discipline, particularly in lab management, may also be considered.

• Proficient advanced scientific skills.

• Experience in personnel management.

• Knowledge and experience in budget development and management.
