This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.
• Maintain and continually enhance the Compliance Framework, which includes policies, procedures, and internal controls, addressing all applicable regulations for the organization.
• Execute and manage the annual Compliance Plan, incorporating compliance monitoring activities and thematic reviews that emphasize regulatory outcomes and conduct risk, along with management and board-level reporting.
• Identify, evaluate, and escalate significant compliance risks, breaches, or control deficiencies.
• Ensure that compliance requirements are integrated into business processes, product governance, customer onboarding, and ongoing operations.
• Evaluate and monitor Conduct Risk, guaranteeing that the firm’s culture and business practices consistently yield fair outcomes for clients.
• Provide regulatory interpretation, guidance, and practical recommendations to the business regarding existing, new, and evolving regulatory requirements and their operational implications.
• Assist in product development and change initiatives, ensuring that newly developed or significantly altered products, services, and distribution models meet applicable regulatory obligations.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on regulatory issues, compliance risk exposure, and regulatory strategy.
• Contribute to escalations requiring Senior Management approval. Engage in the second line of defence oversight of Financial Crime & AML/CFT Framework.
• Challenge the adequacy and effectiveness of first-line AML/CFT implementation to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations.
• Collaborate with the AML/Financial Crime team to provide a comprehensive view of compliance risk for Senior Management.
• Act as a liaison for authorities on regulatory compliance matters, alongside the CRCO.
• Manage and coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries, including documentation preparation and follow-up actions.
• Maintain a Regulatory Change Management tracker to ensure that all upcoming legislative changes are assigned to internal owners and implemented before deadlines.
• Ensure that adequate metrics are available for Senior Management oversight.
• Guarantee timely, accurate, and consistent regulatory reporting within the scope of regulatory compliance responsibilities.
• Ensure sufficient compliance training and awareness programs across the organization, tailored to regulatory developments and risk exposure.
• Ensure staff comprehend their regulatory responsibilities, relevant policies and procedures, and escalation pathways.
• Monitor regulatory developments and proactively assess their relevance and impact on the business.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of governance arrangements, compliance methodologies, and reporting frameworks.
• Collaborate with second line of defence colleagues on Risk, Legal, AML, and Permanent Control functions to ensure cohesive second-line coverage.
• Professional qualification from an internationally recognized body (e.g., ICA, ACAMS)
• Extensive knowledge of the EU regulatory landscape and key financial crime frameworks
• Capability to exercise oversight and possess a thorough understanding of financial crime and AML policies, procedures, and control arrangements in a complex financial environment
• Academic Background: Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Law, Finance, or Business.
• Practical knowledge of the French and EU regulatory environment, particularly in EMI & Crypto. Familiarity with other EU markets is also welcomed!
• Experience in scaling: Proven track record of managing compliance in an organization operating across multiple EU borders.
• Ability to translate complex legal texts into actionable operational workflows for product and engineering teams.
• Native-level proficiency in French (for communications, regulatory reporting, and legal interpretation) and full professional proficiency in English (for group-level communication and documentation drafting, including policies and procedures). Additional EU language skills, particularly in German, are a plus!
