Insurance Follow Up Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Evaluates insurance denials and rejections to determine the appropriate subsequent actions.

• Confirms patient demographic details and verifies insurance eligibility, including coordination of benefits.

• Gathers all necessary information to complete the billing process, involving communication with providers, ancillary services personnel, and patients.

• Secures and attaches referrals/authorizations to appointments and charges.

• Adheres to productivity and accuracy standards as set by the department.

• Takes full accountability for decreasing the accounts receivable related to insurance balances.

• Reviews accounts for correct claims processing and payment posting based on inquiries from patients or staff.

• Recognizes and informs the management team of trends and/or potential issues.

• Complies with and upholds all HOPCo policies and procedures, particularly those related to billing and the Revenue Cycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of two to three years of experience in medical billing.

• Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and the public.

• Proficient in establishing positive working relationships with both internal and external customers.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

• Familiarity with computer systems.

• Experience with the GE patient management system.

• Understanding of physician billing processes, ICD-10, and CPT coding.
