This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Envision, define, and manage research initiatives that illuminate various aspects of grid resilience and the energy transition, utilizing both public and external data.

• Formulate hypotheses, swiftly validate them against reliable external sources, and proactively highlight the most compelling discoveries before they are requested.

• Transform analysis into evidence-based, implication-oriented editorial content across diverse formats, including reports, blogs, briefings, executive-ready narratives, and campaign materials, that resonate with Neara's strengths while maintaining a non-promotional tone.

• Serve as a trusted internal advisor to leaders in Sales, Product, and the executive team, assisting them in interpreting industry changes, refining their arguments, and translating insights into actionable thoughts, plans, and communications.

• Establish and monitor key resilience and infrastructure metrics that represent Neara's unique perspective on the grid's status, creating a benchmark that the industry watches, grounded entirely in credible public evidence.

• Identify and analyze industry inflection points by synthesizing policy, market, social, and technical signals, then convey what has changed, its significance, Neara's role, and how executive thinking should evolve.

• Provide customer-facing teams with shareable, data-supported insights and executive-level language that enhance credibility and facilitate strategic deals.

• Publish content internally and externally, and collaborate with reporters as a reliable, evidence-based source to influence industry narratives.

• Protect Neara's viewpoint by rigorously testing positioning against actual market sentiment, challenging internal assumptions, and ensuring that every claim is credible, justified, and defensible.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in analytical and writing-focused roles, ideally encompassing both fields in energy, infrastructure, technology, or journalism with relevant domain expertise.

• An exceptional writer and editor capable of crafting authoritative narratives for senior business leaders and technical decision-makers, adept at identifying the story, refining the argument, and conveying messages that hold significance.

• Analytically proficient: comfortable sourcing, organizing, and scrutinizing extensive public datasets, and generating data-informed visualizations for external dissemination. Familiarity with analytical tools such as SQL or Python is advantageous, but this role emphasizes insight and narrative over data infrastructure development.

• A reliable thought partner who can engage with senior stakeholders, constructively challenge assumptions, and influence their thought processes and communications.

• Capable of translating complex technical and regulatory materials such as rate cases, proposed legislation, and technical papers into clear, credible, and actionable language for a business audience.

• Possesses a deep curiosity about the infrastructure and energy transition landscape, with the discernment to identify emerging issues before they become mainstream.

• Established relationships with relevant journalists and comfort in engaging with reporters as a source are advantageous.

• Competitive salary + ESOP

• Significant career development and growth opportunities

• Highly meritocratic, non-bureaucratic, and low-ego work culture

• The opportunity to work on complex, meaningful products and real-world issues

• The chance to play a direct, critical role in the trajectory of a high-growth company
