Head of Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Providing guidance to the business on compliance obligations and associated controls.

• Proactively identifying regulatory challenges and suggesting solutions to enhance compliance.

• Shaping the compliance function within the organization, including establishing a 'compliance by design' approach for new product approvals and assessments.

• Collaborating with key stakeholders as necessary.

• Ensuring that the company's compliance framework, policies, and procedures are in line with Dutch and EU regulatory standards.

• Conducting compliance reviews of existing services, evaluating expansion initiatives, new products, and significant modifications to current offerings.

• Performing regulatory gap assessments against current and upcoming requirements.

• Drafting, amending, and maintaining compliance policies, procedures, and internal governance documentation.

• Developing the Annual Compliance Plan.

• Leading the current compliance team, focusing on non-AML compliance issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in law, finance, economics, or a related discipline, along with the right to work in the Netherlands.

• At least 8 to 10 years of regulatory compliance experience within a payments institution, EMI, bank, regulatory body, or a prestigious consultancy or law firm.

• Experience engaging with C-Suite executives and board members on compliance matters.

• Proven experience and comprehensive knowledge of the Dutch and EU regulatory landscape for financial institutions.

• Proficiency in English; professional working knowledge of Dutch is preferred.

• A strong desire and motivation to learn, develop, and make a significant impact as part of a growing team.
