Government and Regulatory Affairs Manager – LATAM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Foster and oversee relationships with regulatory and governmental stakeholders within Mexico and the broader LATAM Region.

• Assist in advocacy efforts concerning regulatory policies and quality standards.

• Track, analyze, and convey regulatory changes related to pharmaceuticals, dietary supplements, and other relevant programs pertinent to USP.

• Offer insights and recommendations on regulatory trends and their potential effects on USP programs and regional strategies.

• Partner with internal teams to aid in the formulation and implementation of suitable responses and engagement strategies.

• Monitor and evaluate public policy changes that influence medicine quality, patient safety, and healthcare accessibility.

• Facilitate engagement with decision-makers and partake in pertinent forums, associations, and discussions to champion quality and public health priorities.

• Establish and sustain collaborative relationships with public sector stakeholders.

• Assist in stakeholder mapping, ranking, and the execution of engagement strategies alongside USP colleagues and subject matter experts.

• Encourage engagement with key stakeholders in the area, including professional organizations, trade associations, academic institutions, and patient advocacy groups.

• Develop and maintain constructive relationships that enhance USP’s visibility, reputation, and mission throughout the region.

• Contribute as a member of the USP International Government and Regulatory Affairs team by sharing regional insights, backing global initiatives, and exchanging best practices with peers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in public health, science, political science, law, or another relevant discipline.

• A minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience in regulatory affairs, government affairs, public policy, or similar roles within Mexico and/or the LATAM Region.

• Proven experience in establishing and sustaining relationships with key stakeholders in healthcare, regulatory, or governmental settings.

• Documented experience collaborating with or engaging governmental policy and/or regulatory bodies on scientific and regulatory policy matters.

• Experience in matrixed and multicultural organizations.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Professional proficiency in both Spanish and English.

• Willingness to travel throughout the LATAM Region (approximately 30%–40%).
