
Fire Engineer – Building Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
• Evaluate designs to ensure compliance with building regulations, fire safety standards, and FSC requirements, report any design non-compliance and associated risks, and collaborate with the design team to formulate the most suitable solutions for client needs.
• Assess fire safety strategies, fire engineering designs, and compliance documentation.
• Inspect on-site fire safety installations to confirm adherence to Building Regulations and project specifications.
• Conduct benchmark inspections related to fire safety components.
• Oversee inspections and compliance activities throughout all phases of the project.
• Perform site inspections to ensure compliance with fire safety standards, Building Regulations, and approved design plans.
• Collaborate with design teams, contractors, and specialist consultants to address fire safety and compliance challenges.
• Review drawings, specifications, ancillary certificates, and project documentation.
• Assess technical submittals as necessary on projects.
• Assist in the preparation and management of inspection plans and certification records.
• Review and compile quality documentation, handover records, and witness testing and commissioning of M&E systems to confirm operation, cause and effect, and fire safety strategies.
• Supervise construction quality to ensure that fire stopping, compartmentation, and life safety systems are installed per specifications.
• Provide technical advice regarding fire safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with clients and stakeholders while delivering high-quality consultancy services.
• Lead, participate in, and contribute to project meetings with both internal and external stakeholders.
• A degree in Fire Engineering, Building Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in fire engineering, building compliance, or construction consultancy.
• Significant on-site experience with a solid understanding of construction methods and fire safety installations.
• In-depth technical knowledge of Building Regulations, BCAR requirements, and fire safety legislation.
• Experience in reviewing fire strategies, technical drawings, and construction documentation.
• Strong comprehension of passive and active fire protection systems.
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Capability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage compliance processes across various projects.
