This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
β’ Design, implement, and continuously enhance the AML/CFT compliance program for El Salvador, aligning with global standards.
β’ Lead and execute process improvement initiatives across operational workflows and control frameworks in LATAM jurisdictions.
β’ Act as the main liaison between the global compliance operations team and the local/regional team, ensuring synchronization on policies, procedures, escalation protocols, and regulatory standards.
β’ Create scalable solutions aimed at operational efficiency, considering both existing regulatory requirements and expected changes.
β’ Foster cross-functional collaboration to tackle regulatory challenges, engaging with Legal, Finance, Risk, and Product teams as necessary.
β’ Support knowledge-sharing across compliance functions and assist with training initiatives for the regional team.
β’ Review and address escalated Transaction Monitoring cases referred by the operational team, applying senior risk-based judgment to complex or ambiguous alerts, making final determinations on suspicious activities, and ensuring all case documentation meets the evidentiary standards required for regulatory defensibility.
β’ Manage the preparation and timely submission of all required periodic regulatory reports to local authorities.
β’ 4β6 years of validated experience in global AML compliance standards relevant to VASPs/PSPs, with comprehensive knowledge of AML/CFT operations (CDD, EDD, transaction monitoring, sanctions, PEPs).
β’ A minimum of 2 years of validated experience in compliance within a Crypto company. [Mandatory]
β’ Strong stakeholder management skills: capable of engaging with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
β’ Advanced understanding of AML/CFT compliance operations, including CDD, EDD, transaction monitoring, sanctions, and PEP screening.
β’ Proven ability to independently handle high-risk cases and make well-informed, risk-based compliance decisions.
β’ Proficient in blockchain analytics tools (Chainalysis, Elliptic, TRM Labs, or similar).
β’ Familiarity with regional and global VASP regulatory frameworks, particularly focusing on El Salvador. Experience in additional LATAM jurisdictions is advantageous.
β’ Fluency in Spanish is mandatory; proficiency in English is highly preferred.
