• Reporting to the Director of Clinical Outcomes Research, you will design and lead real-world evidence studies, which include retrospective cohort analyses, claims-linked outcomes studies, PRO studies, and member surveys, overseeing each project from the initial research question to the final deliverable.
• Identify opportunities for evidence across Oura's clinical and commercial portfolio, encompassing health, healthcare utilization, and cost outcomes, as well as workforce and productivity outcomes pertinent to employer partners, and formulate study proposals with a clear rationale, endpoints, and timelines.
• Collaborate with data science to structure analytic datasets derived from Oura member data and linked claims data sources, yielding outputs that are sufficiently rigorous for publication and clear enough for actionable insights.
• Act as the scientific liaison for external research partners, which includes commercial clients, employer customers, data providers, and academic collaborators, representing Oura's evidence initiatives in cross-organizational study planning and execution.
• Design studies that illustrate the health outcomes and cost impacts of proactive, data-driven care.
• Transform research findings into outputs for varied audiences—including payer briefs, white papers, and partner-facing evidence summaries—in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Assist with IRB submissions and data use agreements in conjunction with Research Operations.
• Contribute to abstracts and publications, and present findings at conferences to enhance the clinical credibility of Oura's evidence base.
• Master's degree or PhD in Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Outcomes, or a related field; at least 8 years of experience in real-world evidence research, preferably within the wearables sector.
• Proven expertise in observational study design and RWE methodologies, including retrospective cohort analyses, causal inference, and claims-based research.
• Extensive, hands-on experience in generating evidence from wearable or connected-device data as a primary data source, with an understanding of measurement and analytic considerations specific to continuous physiological signals.
• Experience with additional real-world data sources, such as claims, EHR, and registries, along with familiarity with data linkage platforms.
• Proficient in PRO instrument selection and survey study design.
• Strong scientific communication skills, demonstrated by a track record of producing outputs that engage and resonate with clinical, commercial, or payer audiences.
• Proven ability to independently drive a body of evidence to completion and work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment.
• Familiarity with health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) methods, including cost and healthcare utilization analyses and economic modeling, is advantageous.
• Competitive salary and equity packages
• Health, dental, vision insurance, and mental health resources
• An Oura Ring for yourself plus employee discounts for friends & family
• 20 days of paid time off, 13 paid holidays, and 8 days of flexible wellness time off
