This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Exhibits a deep understanding of human behavior and customer biases, utilizing effective interviewing techniques to reveal underlying needs and guide product decisions.
• Collaborates closely with customers to ethically recruit educators, students, and parents, maintaining a focus on consent, privacy, and trust.
• Leverages cutting-edge AI tools to enhance research initiatives, optimize workflows, and consolidate insights from various data sources.
• Collaborates with Product teams to establish and uphold clear research agendas and roadmaps. Formulates primary research questions and objectives aligned with business strategies, ensuring that research addresses essential knowledge gaps.
• Chooses suitable qualitative and quantitative research methods, creates detailed research plans, conducts high-quality studies, and maintains effective communication with cross-functional partners throughout the process.
• Utilizes expertise in human behavior and human factors to analyze and synthesize research data, generating clear, actionable insights that directly meet research objectives.
• Shapes product strategy through insights derived from research, promoting user-centered decisions and assisting stakeholders in understanding the value and impact of research.
• Communicates research findings, recommendations, and solutions to senior leadership with clarity, confidence, and executive presence.
• Performs market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities that influence product direction.
• Ensures that regulatory, compliance, and privacy considerations are integrated into user recruitment and data collection processes.
• Cultivates a collaborative culture, shared ownership, and ongoing enhancement across teams.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Over 5 years of demonstrated success in leading user research projects with measurable impact.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (HCI, Psychology, Human Factors, Social Sciences, etc.) or equivalent experience; a Master’s degree is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, with an understanding of when to apply each.
• Work samples that exhibit experience and deliverables (e.g., research plans, reports, presentations, etc.).
• Familiarity with common research/design tools (e.g., usertesting.com, survey platforms, testing tools, repositories, Figma) and excellent organizational skills.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in product development, including UX Design, Product Management, Engineering, and Analytics.
• Strong time management skills and a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to navigate multiple workstreams and adapt to shifting priorities.
• An ideal candidate will also have:
• Experience in the EdTech or Education sectors.
• An M.S. in Human Factors, HCDE, Statistics, or Cognitive Psychology.
• Experience with tools like Jira, Jira Product Discovery, Usertesting.com, Qualtrics, Google Analytics, and MixPanel.
• Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design practices.
• Experience with Agile software development and Continuous Discovery.
